Press Conference for Children's Day
On June 7th, FAVILEK hosted a press conference to commemorate International Children's Day and celebrate the the work of the young women participating in FAVILEK's Youth Resistance program. The event included an exhibit of painting and crochet work done by the 25 young women participants over the first 3 months of the program. Radio Kiskeya was in attendance in addition to approximately 40 guests who came to view and purchase work from the exhibit.

Pwogram sa ap ofri jèn yo fòmasyon nan penti, kwoche ak atizanal pou kapab bay yo yon fason pou yo jere vi yo epi anpeche yo tounen nan aktivite pwostitisyon.

Artisanal workshop for youth in prostitution
In April 2012, FAVILEK launched a new project in partnership with American Jewish World Service (AJWS) to provide training to young girls involved in prostitution. The program offers young girls workshops in painting, crochet, and other artisanal activities in order to provide an alternative source of income and help them avoid returning to prostitution.
The workshop started with a group of 25 adolescent girls who are participating 3 days a week. The group has already started preparing goods for an exhibit we will be hosting this summer. Check back to see their beautiful work!
